It's not just the flu, the health condition of Isa Mustaf has become complicated

The former prime minister is not in danger of life, but because of the flu's delayed treatment, his condition has been seriously complicated. He is unable to move, while to be fully rehabilitated, months must pass.

The newspaper Express learns doctors suspect that LDK) chairman has been affected by Sindoroma “Guylain-Barré syndrome”. Treatment of this disease, for people who do not have strong physical activity, or for those who are older, is very difficult, and the disease can have consequences.

Former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa has been lying at the American Hospital in Pristina for a week. Little information has been provided by his party, the Democratic League of Kosovo, as well as by Mustafa's health family, except through a communiqué it has been announced that he has been admitted to the hospital as a result of the flu.

However, the state of health of the opposition leader is slightly more serious than an ordinary seasonal flu.

“He is unable to move”, close sources with Mustafa family have told Express on Sunday, under condition of anonymity.

According to these sources, doctors are looking for the cause of this situation, and among many their doubts about what has caused the situation in Mustafa is also a very rare syndrome.

According to these sources, doctors suspect Mustafa may also have been affected by “Guillain-Barré syndrome” (GBS).

GBS syndrome is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks a part of the peripheral nervous system. The initial symptoms of this disorder include different levels of weakness or feeling. These symptoms can grow with intensity until certain muscles can be used at all, and when heavy, the person is almost totally paralyzed.

Such an individual is often placed in a ventilator to help him with breathing and has been viewed closely for such problems as abnormal heartbeat, infections, blood clots, and high or low blood pressure.

Most individuals, however, have a cure for this syndom, even though some continue to have a certain degree of weakness.

So far LDK officials and family have been largely reserved to provide information on Mustafa's health. Even in 2010, when Isa Mustafa, then president of Pristina, had traveled abroad to undergo a heart intervention, his party officials had kept information about his health almost secret.

It was one of the comments his partner Bujar Bukoshi made on a television show at the time.

The current leader of the LDK has held high positions in the province of Kosovo in what was called “The Joint Yugoslav State” before the 1990s. Then he became part of Bujar Bukoshi's Interim Government in the Exal. After the war, it has held positions in the leadership of public institutions as well as at the UPA Board. One time it served as Fatmir Sejdiu's adviser to become Pristina chairman until 2013. In 2009, he assumed the position of LDK) chairman.

In the last elections, following the collapse of the prime minister's position, Mustafa decided not to join the MP race either, leaving Avdullah Hoti first.
