President Hashim Thaci and his counterpart Aleksandar Vuciq have not met since August last year.
But the next meeting between two presidents is unknown when it will be held. Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman and the Office of the High Representative for Foreign Policy, Federica Moghrini, told Online Economy via E-mail, that I cannot give a date for the two-way meeting.
But according to her, Pristina and Belgrade must identify the goal of the pace of dialogue launched in 2011.
It is Belgrade and Pristina that identify the goal, steps, pace, dialogue format”, Kocijansic stressed.
Kocijansic has clarified that work for the new phase of dialogue is continuing, because both sides have reconfirmed their commitment to implementing agreements reached earlier, the EO reports.
“Work for the new phase of dialogue for the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is continuing. Both sides have reconfirmed their strong commitment to implementing all agreements”.
She has also talked about the meeting that senior representative Frederica Moghrini had with the prime ministers of the Western Balkans at the end of December last year with particular emphasis on the possibility of integration of this part into Europe.
At the informal December 18th, 2017, High Representative Federica Moghrini and the prime ministers of the Western Balkans discussed the situation in the region, and in particular opportunities to advance the region's integration into the European Union in 2018. Participants highlighted their deep commitment and interest in strengthening co-operation and good neighbourly relations and in promoting regional understanding”, she said.
According to her, in this context, the importance of continued discussions between presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vuciq were stressed to advance in dialogue on normalising relations.
On the other hand, a day earlier, government leader Ramush Haradinaj has named his adviser Avni Arifin, chief of negotiations with Belgrade.
