In the reaction the office in Pristina has conveyed to MPs, the initiative -- still pending near the Kosovo Assembly -- poses a serious concern for the EU and its member states, KTV reports.
Any attempt to abolish or change the mandate of Specialised Chambers seriously undermines such an achievement and would jeopardise the EU-Kosovo joint work on rule of law in recent years. This would negatively affect Kosovo's reports with the European Union”.
The EU has praised recent statements by political leaders, media and civil society, which have raised their voices against such an harmful initiative.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Kthim and Community Dalibor Yevtic has indicated that during yesterday's meeting with representatives from Germany and France, he has told them that Serbs and the Serbian List are opposed to the special court's attempts to break up by Kosovo Parliament deputies.
Jevtic, with EU supporters, has also talked about developments in Kosovo and has stressed that the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade must continue.
According to the communiqué, Yevtiq European officials have also reported with “the problems of the non-US people” in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, European Integration Minister Gift Hoxha has voiced opposition to the Special Court's abolition of Kosovo.
Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri does not comment on the MP's initiative to abolish the Special Court, as according to him, it belongs only to Kosovo Assembly deputies.
He said he works with the current laws that are in force -- even with those constitutional changes being made when the Special Court Law was adopted in August 2015.
