Suhareka and Zubin Potoku are the two municipalities that have entrusted the post to women by deputy leaders, KTV reports.
However, civil society is not satisfied with this representation, saying the problem lies with political parties, as those domestic policies are not oriented towards gender equality.
Roberta Osmani from “Democracy Plus” says there must be a greater number of women's representation in decision-making, not because it was guaranteed by law, but, according to her, women have testified that they can take responsibility both at the local level and at the central level.
The MP from the PDK ranks, Xhevahire Izmaku, who was deputy head of the Wushtrri Community 10 years ago, says that the experience at the local level is very important, especially for women but that, according to her, politics is still considered in us as a arena of power.
Izmaku says there is still a need for training for domestic democracy in political parties.
Even from the Initiative for Kosovo, they say they are not satisfied with representing women in decision-making.
In some municipalities, women have managed to elect leaders of the Communists, as in Ferizaj and Skenderaj.
In the current mandate of the Kosovo Assembly, women are represented by 30 per cent, out of a total of 120 deputies, 38 are women, respectively.
The women's low number is also executive, with only two women being led by 21 ministries.
