In the case of Robert C. Weaver in the cabinet, President Yoonson described Harvard University economist as the most suitable man to run the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The United States Senate unanimously approved the appointment of Robert Weaver in the post, who was the grandson of a former slave and son of a postal worker.
Professor Weaver took the doctorate into the economy from Harvard University and taught there until 1934, when he entered government service during the administration of President Franklin Roosevelt. /Periscopi/
