A researcher at the European Policy Analysis Centre in Washington has warned in an interview for the “Victory” of Podgorica that Moscow will be “trying to promote a secret conflict from all bilateral disputes in SEE countries”.
According to Bugajski, the strategy with which Moscow underestimates its neighbours and Southeast European countries is an example of classical policies and imperialism.
“Misleading neighbours against each other, Moscow can strengthen its position in the Balkans and in Central Europe,” he said, reports “Beta”, Periscopi broadcast.
The researcher believes that countries of the region “should implement three policies” in order to counter with the “development strategy and rule” by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“S first, they need to raise public awareness of the Kremlin's political and informative attacks, and secondly, they have to create bilateral working groups with neighbouring countries made up of scientists and cyber propaganda experts to protect themselves from attack and, third, all Kremlin propaganda must divide in order to develop regional initiatives, especially in the information field “, the American analyst said.
Bugajski shows that bilateral disputes in the region “will not disappear overnight”, but that “any society should not allow third parties to turn these conflicts into their own advantage”.
In his words, Montenegrin governments and all other governments in the region must work closely with the United States and the European Union through effective regional strategies in which intelligence must co-operate and share information, work together in cyber security, and fight corruption./Periscopi/
