Unlettered children; neither do Albanian capital

In 2017, there are still children in Albania who cannot read or write. Such are the children of the ninth grade at the Pogradec village school of Homezh. “Fixheh” brought this Friday with facts their ignorance in reading and writing the mother tongue. “Fixheh” brought this Friday with facts their ignorance in reading and writing the mother tongue. A number of complaints from parents arrived in the news show, saying that children in the village school teach in common classes and are almost illiterate.
Reporters from “Fiks” traveled to the village in question. A girl who had finished this school's 9th grade did not know who Albania's capital was and responded by the name of the village to herself, Homezzy.
The girl could not read and know the letters, and she hardly wrote her name on paper. The biggest surprise was when this girl could not even read the large type of press written on the school wall.
The same was true in most students. When asked by reporters from “Fixheshe” to read a single sentence without error from books that had daily instruction, only one read fluently, while the other 15 children could not complete the sentence without error.
Even parents, who waited for the shooting group in the middle of the village, unanimously claimed that their children from the first grade to the ninth grade can neither read nor write.
Although we are in 2017, when electronic devices dominate our lives, in this village just 18 km from the illiterate Pogradec has fallen on foot.
