After Turkey's National Security Council meeting for the development of referendum by the Iraqi Kurdish regional government declared that “despite all warnings made in the event this referendum is held, Turkey preserves the rights stemming from bilateral and international agreements”.
In the statement released after the meeting held at the presidential residence, it is stressed that all internal and external security issues have been discussed at the meeting, and the assessment has been made that “from the council has been revised previously recommended measures against all terrorist organisations..., threatening the country's national security”.
The quality of lawlessness and incompatibility of the referendum proclaimed by the Iraqi Kurdish regional government on September 25th 2017<18x1> has been defined, the statement said.
“This step is a serious mistake that directly threatens Turkey's national security, political unity and territorial sovereignty and poses a threat to peace, security and stability of the region”, it is highlighted.
