Thaci says Kosovo working for new recognition, for EU, NATO membership

The head of state thanked Secretary Millard and Deputy Assistant Secretary Yee for the powerful support and special relations of the United States for Kosovo.
“We are determined to work together with the US to consolidate Kosovo's position in the international community, strengthening our strategic reports with the Euro-Atlantic community, gaining more recognition and membership in international organisation”, President Thaci has said during the meeting.
He said Kosovo is working to meet key priorities that concern economic development, strengthening rule of law, meeting the criteria for EU and NATO membership.
The meeting also discussed dialogue on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. President Thaci stressed that the direct involvement of the US in this final phase is necessary to secure an acceptable and applicable final agreement for both sides that will strengthen peace and stability in the region and beyond.
