Three 18-year-olds from Switzerland had different summer holidays from all their friends. They visited Kosovo for a week in order to teach English to the Roma community.
Robin Huber, Leonardo Mastragiacomo and Nico Polli, came to Kosovo during the summer to teach the language to Roma children in Kosovo. The three young people had the goal of helping this community to play and enjoy themselves during the summer, writes Insander.
But the three young men were shocked as soon as they arrived in Pristina.
“We faced poverty in town”, recalls Robin. But according to 18-year-olds it was not compared to what they expected in the Roma village, not far from Pristina.
“Not far from Pristina, people lived in difficult conditions”, Leonardo describes.
The children were very poor fed, some of them were sick”, said another visitor, Nico.
The visitors, though, were impressed by the happiness these children had despite other circumstances.
Three tourists from Switzerland claimed Winterhur-zeitung. What that in next summer will return to visit Kosovo.
