“CBS Boston” reports that 9 sharks were observed in Cape Montaday, from Provincetown to Monomey Island, but the most feared was certainly the one in Orleans, who forced the closure of the Nauset beach at 1:30.
Thayer Wade, a vacationer who managed to film the event, said: “I looked up and saw the tail of a white shark. We didn't know whether it was a seal or a human, so it was a thrilling moment”.
The shark, which was close to shore, appears in the video, removing a large piece from the seal's body. The sea was filled with blood while carrying its seal and addressing two teenage surfers. At first, they didn't understand why people shouted to swim, but when they saw the shark, they panicked.
Residents exploiting Nauet's beach expressed fears that soon the next victim would not be a seal. So they'll think twice about getting washed back on that beach they've washed all their life.
The rise of sharks in Cape over the past week has closed many beaches.
