SBASK: Rejecting public sector wage increases, private sector protection

Finance Minister Bedri Hamza's statement that there will be salary raises for the entire public sector has been well received by thousands of employees in Kosovo's education sector. The SBASK welcomes the willingness of Minister Bedri Hamza and Haradinaj Government to make good moves around wages after now three years [...]
“The SBASK would enjoy news even if private sector business owners have finally decided to raise their salaries”, said the SBASK media response.
The SBASK has reacted to public statements by Kosovo's Chairman of Economic Ode, Safet Gerjaliu and to BSPK Deputy Chairman Alush Sejdiu's public statement. They, according to the SBASK, try to stand up as private sector advocates, but do not protect this sector by opposing the increase in public sector wages.
And if Sejdiu's “Grxhaliu, I believe you know, that if the public sector's salary raises is prevented, it doesn't do any good for employees in the private sector, so it doesn't even raise salaries there. This suggests that to maintain the poor situation with salaries in the private sector, wage growth should be hampered even in the public sector”, the SBASK response reported.
