Officials in Saudi Arabia have declared the successful end of this year's Haxhi pilgrimage, which has gathered some 2.3 million Muslims from around the world.
Prince Khalid al-Faisal, who has led the government's committee for monitoring Hadzi, said the ritual has attracted people for 30 per cent more than last year and that the five-day event has gone smoothly.
In recent years, unrest, fire, and deadly mob confusion have followed Hagi.
In 2015, some 2,300 believers died from mob flight in Mecca.
Hagi is known as the fifth pillar of Islam, and it is a religious duty for all believers who can afford travel and physically are strong.
