Just as warned by the Vetevendosje Movement that today will be presenting their programme for markets in the capital. The current mayor, Shpend Ahmeti, has indicated that during his next term there will be a focus of the green market, Ulpiana, vehicles.
According to a media communique, it becomes known that markets in Pristina have so far operated as AKP's under-management Social Company.
Full communication:
In the next term, the focus will be on the revilitation of static markets in the Pristina municipality:
The Green Market in 2016 Pristina municipality has introduced the new market project in the Historical Zone, where the AKP is currently located. That land is the property of the Pristina municipality, and the new market surrounded by commercial space will be placed in it, preserving every wood and every green in that part. Also, it is designed to build an underground average parking lot to meet market needs. The project begins implementation in 2018
The market in Ulpiana ípiana will be revived in line with neighborhood demands, but also significantly improving the conditions and appearance of that space. The implementation of this project will begin in 2019.
The multi-market finds its way to Fusha Kosovo. Because part of it is located on the property of AKP-led Social Enterprises, vendors are very often faced with rent problems. During the second term, a solution will be made to final market deployment, whether through the regulation of property status between the AKP and the Pristina municipality, or through the crossing under full market management in the Pristina municipality.
His status will be adjusted because of his enormous interest in that market. It's one of the most popular markets. We'll make all the investments necessary so it's as functional as possible.
All of these will create a Municipal Public Company, which will be called “Pristina Trades”. That company will function and maintain the revenues it receives from the use of space by vendors. That money will be used for new investments in those parts. With the functioning of new markets, we will also manage to remove illegal vendors from public spaces in Pristina”, said Chairman Shpend Ahmeti, as he presented the project for markets in Pristina.
