As the Presidency reports, at this meeting President Thaci will thank the Holy Father for the support the Vatican has given Kosovo's people at different times and its role in promoting world peace.
Thaci will inform the Holy Father of the political processes in the country, following the creation of new institutions, of eventual reforms in the economy sector, education and advancing human rights and communities.
At this meeting, President Thaci will also talk to Pope Francisescu about establishing the Commission for Truth and Conciliance and the process of normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia aimed at ending the centuries-old conflict and reconciliation between two states and peoples.
After meeting with Pope Francis, President Thaci will travel to the United States of America. At the White House, President Thaci will be hosted by US Vice President Michael Pence.
This meeting will discuss various topics of interest to both our countries. President Thaci will seek continued American support for strengthening international subjectivity, for Kosovo's economic development and the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
President Thaci will also seek US involvement in the latest phase of the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia, as a guarantor of peace and stability in the region.
