A research conducted in Great Britain reveals that the Muslim name Muhamed is one of the most frequent names parents leave to their children in the British capital of London and in the Midlands region, the Anadolu Agency exhibits (AA).
The report, published by the National Institute for Statistics (ONS) that bears the title “infant names in England and Wales”, speaks that the most popular names last year have been “Over” in male gender and “Olivia” in female gender.
At least 5,017 female babies born last year are given the name Olivia, as followed by the names Amelia, Emily, Isla and Ava.
As for male babies, 6,623 sosh are named Oliver, while other popular names are also Harry, George, Jack and Jacob.
What attracts attention is that the name Muhammad is among the ten most popular names, most specifically, 3,908 babies are named Muhammad.
ONS says the name Muhamed was one of the most frequent names in male babies in the capital London and the Midland region.
The capital of Great Britain, London, has 8.6 million inhabitants, of whom 12 percent are Muslims. Britain has a total of three million Muslims.
