Leaders of Western Balkan countries have held a meeting in margins of UN General Assembly works organised by EU High Representative Federica Moghrini and Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn last night.
Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Dragan Covic, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, IRJM Prime Minister Zoran Zaev have participated.
“Ston we had a working session with leaders of the six Western Balkan partners in the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York to further advance the work about the European integrations of the entire region”, the report said.
“We reconfirmed the European Union's unequivocal support for the prospect of expanding the Western Balkans, which has recently indicated at both levels on the European Council, as well as by European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, in his annual speech Uniony's status earlier this month. In line with this pledge, the EU is strengthening its support to all partners towards achieving realistic goals so that their progress will be irreversible by the end of our mandate”, the EU stresses in the announcement released today.
