By September in Macedonia, there would have to be no citizens working for less than 12,000 denarii a month. That was the government's promise, that this month will start implementing the new minimum wage amount, but the Assembly has not long approved changes that will affect 130 thousand citizens.
The “alone in the textile sector are employed by about 35 thousand citizens who have so far received 90,000 denars and, with the new increase to 12,000 denars, they will earn more before”, Biljana Dukovska said from the Macedonian platform against poverty.
However, according to Dukovsca, the highest minimum wage does not solve the high-scale poverty systemic problem. The state certainly has to take more measures to improve the lives of citizens and to say that something is being done for them to get out of poverty.
If we come into a situation that citizens should share more money for transportation and food and that doesn't guarantee their employers or there is no other type of support, if they should share larger percentages to let somebody take care of their children or provide more money for education, if health costs more money then only with the increase of minimum pay we've done nothing”, Dukovska says.
Legal changes to the growth of the minimum Rug are in order for tomorrow's plenary session, where accelerated procedure will have to be adopted. That is one of the main issues of daily political clashes between the LSDM and the VMO-DPMNE. The power requires support for the law, while the opposition criticises that the priority government has been the cadrovic changes and Zvelevski's dismissal. /Alsat/
