Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has said that under the Brussels Agreement Kosovo will soon have access even north of the country, sending the prosecutor and judges to start operating in courts.
He has not given an exact date when this can happen, but has stressed that from now on Kosovo's citizens, within its territorial integrity, will face a justice system based on a single Constitution, Periscope broadcasts.
This is his full Facebook comment:
One of the biggest challenges following Kosovo's declaration of independence was extending sovereignty and integration in the full sense of the word, separately to the north of the country. It has worked hard in this direction, as much as it has worked hard for Kosovo's multiethnic society to build a consensus to move forward jointly.
Today, the situation is changing specifically. Soon the Justice Brussels Agreement will be implemented, in addition to the Police and Prosecutors, the judges will start their work in the courts in the country's north, so that Kosovo citizens indiscriminately have access to the justice system according to the laws and judicial order of the Republic of Kosovo.
The implementation of this agreement is a very important step that eventually cut off any external influence on the country's judicial system, and as such, it is great news for our institutions, citizens and our secure future towards integration into the European Union.
From now on, Kosovo citizens within its territorial integrity will face a unique justice system based on a single Constitution, the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
