Palestine joined Interpol as a member state Wednesday, a movement rejected by Israel, in a vote at the International Security Organisation General Assembly in Beijing, Interpol said via official Twitter, Russia Today” reported.
The state of Palestine and the Solomon Islands are now members of Interpol”, the official Interpol newspaper wrote.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry, which earlier said Israel's efforts to delay a vote until next year had failed, while having no immediate comment on the decision./Periscopi/
