Last week, the case of Libyan imam Abu Ramadan, blamed for spreading hatred against “to unbelievers” and for unjust use of Switzerland's social system.
He, according to the SRF television show “Rundschau” and according to the newspaper “Tages Anzeeger”, in his sermons at a mosque in Biel/Bienne had propagand violence against those who are not Muslims. At the same time, this imam has used about 600 thousand social aid francs in Switzerland, broadcast albinfo.ch. For twenty years he lived here. He has never worked, nor has he learned any of the languages of the country.
After the publication in the media mentioned, it was found that the State Secretariat for Migration had stripped him of the status of asylum that imam had acquired as persecuted by Libya a few weeks earlier.
Meanwhile, Abu Ramadan has provided an interview for the newspaper “Tages Anzeeger”, in which he denies all charges. As the most obvious of the answers he's given in the interview is that “fare has the translator”. The latter, according to him, has deliberately distorted his preaching, desiring to present the imam as a man of hatred, conveys albinfo.ch. Imam admits that during his stay in Switzerland, he never worked, either because he lived at the expense of the state, but says he was right about it. “The State has not obtained a job, nor has it financed its studies”.
And because of not learning the language, the responsibility lies in the State, since it has not provided the pursuit of respective courses.
A delicate point in the case of imam is his going about ten times to Libya as a visitor, despite the fact that he had fled as persecuted precisely by the regime there. I didn't know I didn't have the right to go”, was his reasoning.
But the eventual repatriation in Libya or some other Arab state he sees impossible, at risk for life. On the other hand, he has been at least ten times as a professional companion of travel groups to Mecca, the Muslim sanctuary. For these trips, it says it was not paid by anyone but only covered by travel and stay at the hotel.
How the work will be completed regarding the status of his stay in Switzerland is not yet known exactly, since his subject is in processing, transmits albinfo.ch. But, according to field responsibles and experts, it is almost certain that it cannot be expelled from Switzerland, respectively, to be repatriated to where it came from.
