Hashim Thaci urges these states to recognise Kosovo

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has met with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit in New York today.

The head of state thanked Foreign Secretary About Gheit for his personal commitment and leaders of Arab League countries for strengthening Kosovo's partnership with Arab League states and for confirming Kosovo in its member states.

The meeting also discussed intensifying efforts to lobby for Kosovo's recognition by North African states that have not yet recognised its independence.
