A while ago, someone asked me what kept me up at night. My answer was simple - bureaucracy. Distract structures. Byzantine procedures. The endless Burocracy”, Guterres said.
“Someone who tries to destroy the UN can't do this better than by establishing rules that we ourselves have created”, he stressed.
Even American President Donald Trump today condemned the bureaucracy that is hindering the UN.
“over the past few years, the United Nations has failed to realise their potential plan due to red tape and wrong management”, Trump said during the adoption of a ten-point political statement urging the organisation to reform.
Organised by the US, the adoption of this statement has received the support of 126 countries, represented at various levels of presidents, ministers and senior officials, who heard the American president's speech.
