As he said during an interview for “Zin”, this is because citizens of countries considered safe “” cannot claim to enjoy asylum rights in France.
“The right to asylum in France is defined by very precise conditions of access from a legal standpoint and exercised under the supervision of the judge. Citizens of countries considered safe cannot claim to enjoy asylum rights in France. The safe places are where there is no general violence and where the state is able to care for the safety of its citizens. Kosovo has been classified in France by the body responsible for registering asylum applications, on the list of safe countries, Chambers said.
He has further said that there is no reason for an EU Kosovo population to be predicted at this stage.
“However, it is helpful to clarify the gap between the visa issue and immigration. Removing visa demand is not the right to emigrate, it is fair to travel. Those who do not understand the difference between these two concepts when visa liberalisation occurs and who choose to stay in the Schengen area beyond the time of travel envisioned in the agreement will be required to leave the European Union and cannot return. Visa liberalisation agreements still envision a clause of repatriation. A mechanism to suspend visa liberalisation allows the European Union to react, temporarily and as a last resort, when rules are not respected”.
