“La Perla”, a neighborhood in San Juan, Puerto Rico, became known worldwide because of Louis Fons' song that reached maximum clicks on the YouTube network.
Hurricane “Maria” that hits the area has almost completely destroyed “phamable neighborhood”.
Most houses have been destroyed and the beach has become a garbage dump.
The neighbourhood, once plagued by drug trafficking and crime, became a tourist attraction after Fons and Yankees released their video clips in January.
Since then, the song has been seen more than 3.8 billion times on YouTube.
