He tried to rescue the police by entering the sea, not knowing he would face a five-foot-long shark.
North Carolina police announced that Zahariya Kingsbury was found a supply of narcotics in the car, but he managed to escape arrest by running toward the sea.
And when he thought he was rescued, 20-year-old boy faced a shark, which was about 20 meters from where he dived. After several hours of searching, however, the police were able to find him and arrest Kingsbury several miles from where he was taken into the water.
Security cameras show he has not sustained shark injuries, but has to face charges of resistance to police, possession of methadone, marijuana and drug equipment.
