U.S. Embassy donates 38 beds to QKUUKU

The Office for Defence and Co-operation, which operates under the American Embassy in Pristina, has today submitted 38 beds with inventory support for intensive units in four clinics of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK).
Curr Jocaj, director general of USKKUK, said that through these donations it was never left behind KKUK and American Embassy officials are aware of health problems and are constantly helping, where donations have been millions.
He recalled earlier renovations from surgery clinics, where values exceed $2m in infrastructure and equipment, as well as in staff education.
Health Minister Uran Ismaili recalled that the health sector needs an improvement and these assistance will be welcome.
While, Collen Hyland, deputy head of the United States Mission in Kosovo, said these contemporary beds donated by the US, will enable patients to have greater comfort and will enable better quality of general care.
Pointing to the value of the donation, she explained that this donation amounts to $60,000 and is financed by the American Forces Command' humanitarian assistance programme in Europe, but the efforts, however, have been promoted by the Office for Defence Co-operation.
The deputy head of the US Mission for Kosovo explained that the latest support project in a long range of total support projects is estimated to be worth $2.5m.
