During a speech at a rally of the Christian Democrat party (CDU) in Berlin, Merkel said that the “goal is to reach the high number of undecided voters who make their decision only in the last few hours”.
According to a survey released today by the newspaper “Bild”, 45 percent of Germans would choose Merkel as Chancellor, in the face of 32 percent choosing their rival, Social Democrat Party leader (SPD), Martin Schulz.
Four weeks ago, the same survey showed that the Meerkel and Schulz confrontation was at levels, respectively, 51 percent against 22 percent.
