In his address to the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared that his governance priority is EU membership.
“Integration affects every cell of our development architecture. It is our ability to make the necessary reforms that will enable this process. The justice reform we are implementing is key”, Rama has declared.
On the other hand, the government head has stressed, Albania expects European partners to open the doors for membership negotiations.
“Hopefully the EU, despite the current crisis, enlargement will take priority. As much as Albania needs the EU, as much as the EU needs a more developed and sustainable Balkans”, Rama has said. Rama has underlined that it is necessary for internationals to treat equally all factors in the Balkan region, including Kosovo, which, according to him, needs membership in international institutions. “Therefore we believe that Kosovo's membership in international bodies will serve stability. Many have used this speaker to declare that dark forces will arise from Kosovo's independence. None of this happened. Today the Western Balkans is very good than 7 or 10 years ago. Kosovo's independence not only freed no dark force, but brought stability”, Rama added. Among other things during his speech, the Albanian prime minister has been talking about the threats facing worldwide today from dangerous phenomena such as terrorism and extremism. Global subx4> has been seriously challenged. No country, however large and powerful, can face these problems alone. These crises require a co-ordinated action. # I's defat SIS on the ground does not mean he will eventually disappear”, Rama said. Stressing that Albania was one of the first countries to join the international coalition, the prime minister has added that our country is willing to carry out its duties in this direction.
