Serbia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, has said otherwise that his Kosovo counterpart, Behgjet Pacolli, had said days earlier about recognising Kosovo's independence by Mauritius.
Pacolli had said days ago that the state of uritius will soon recognise Kosovo.
“Continues congested meetings and agendas under the meetings of the General Assembly in New York City. A few moments ago, we met the president of uritius, Ameenah Gurib. Very warm and friendly encounters. Good news of official recognition from this country can come soon. The recognition process is unstoppable and irreversible”, Pacolli had declared.
But otherwise, Ivica Dacic declared today to Serbian media. He has said that after Pacolli's meeting with Mauritius' representatives, the Serbian side has held a meeting with representatives of the state of Mauritius, who, according to Daciqi, have said they will not accept Kosovo's independence, writes Insander.
Kosovo's “representatives, due to their internal political reasons, provide incorrect information. As is the fact that uritius will recognise Kosovo. I immediately invited the Prime Minister of uritius with whom we normally have good contacts. Serbia backed Mauricius in case of their territorial integrity and joined UN statements and resolutions. They had a different attitude than what was said by the Kosovo side”, Dacic told Serbian media.
