Despite Madrid's will, the country's regional government will hold an independence referendum. But it is not only Catalonia, there are other regions in Europe that want independence from central governments.

In the eastern half of Europe, the breakup of the Soviet Union and the former Yugoslavia has caused many new states to be created. In Western Europe, it seems that the old national states have long been consolidated. But in these foundations, the desire for independence of regions in a number of European countries abounds, and in some even militant efforts. The chances of realising such a requirement are different in different countries.

Catalonia

Nowhere else in Europe is the tendency for independence as strong as in Catalonia. While in the time of Franco's dictatorship oppression of catalyzing emotions, the region has already achieved a broad measure of political and cultural autonomy, among other things, having the regional parliament. But that is not enough for the surplus of 7.5 million catalogs. They want a separate state, mainly for economic reasons. They say Catalonia is the richest region from which the Spanish state absorbs as a whole. About 20 per cent of the Spanish gross product in the country takes place in the eastern region around Barcelona. On 1 October, the regional government has announced the independence referendum. The conservative government in Madrid and Mariano Rajoyt reject the referendum and consider it unconstitutional and trying judicially and even with the force of police to block it by sequenting the ballot sheets.

Basque region

Many Catalons are instructed by the Basque region. Throughout Spain, the central government in Madrid collects taxes and distributes them to separate regions, but not in the Basque region and in the province that belongs to it, Narja with the capital of Pamlonan. The Bass region manages taxes more effectively and pays a minimum amount to Madrid. The Bass region is economically weaker than Catalonia. Although even Basque nationalism and Basque have been crushed under Franco's ossuary, a small minority of modern bass nationalists is militant. Basque organization in illegality, The ETA, in about 50 years, has killed over 800 people to achieve its goal of secession from Madrid. In 2011 ETA gave up violence. But neither the attacks nor political talks have enabled a referendum, without talking about independence anymore. A referendum in November 2014 turned into a symbolic vote. Only the Spanish central government can hold such a referendum, according to the Spanish constitution, but the government in Madrid refuses it as well as the referendum in Catalonia.

Scotland

There has been a union between Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom for 300 years. But the Scottish people have long sought increased autonomy. They have a banner on their own. But the Scottish National Party demands independence. In 2014 London allowed the independence referendum. Although most Scottishs voted against partition, in 2016 the spirit of independence was revived because of its referendum on the EU in Great Britain and its EU exit process. Following the British decision on leaving the EU, Scotland's chief minister, Nicolaa Stormon, was driven by nationalists: while the electors in Scotland have voted overwhelmingly for the remnant of Great Britain in the EU, it is unacceptable that Scotland is automatically released along with Great Britain from the EU. When more details about the frog become known, in the fall of 2018 it will hold a referendum on similar independence in 2014.

Flandra

In recent parliamentary elections in Belgium in 2014 The new coalition flammand under the Almighty Bart De Wever emerged the largest political force in Flanders. De Wever is convinced, that the whole Belgian state will still be “is” and that the fandra without Vallonine will be better economically. An independent flag, he aims to reach through negotiations. Flaamand separatism is a special case: Belgium, however, is made up of Dutch-speaking flagads and French-speaking valons, including the Germanophone and Brussels, which have two official languages. While Flandra breaks down, Belgium would lose more than the population's neighm, as well as economic strength. Belgium will hold very little. The hottest point of the debate is in this case Brussels' status, which is also the headquarters of the EU and NATO. What would happen to Vallonia is also unclear. The idea of belonging to France, Luxembourg, or even Germany has circulated temporarily. However, the debate is already past, and to this day Belgians have drawn closer and closer together.

The separatist movement in northern Italy is motivated simply by the economy. North with Lombardia regions, Aosta, Peemont, Liguria, Venato and Emilia-Rmagnas realised with their industrial companies and banks much of the Italian social product. Many Italian-veritors believe that Middle Italy and South consume hard-earned money in the country's north. The Lega Nord Party in the 1990s wanted the complete break of the north “Palanias”, stemming from the Italian appointment “piana panana” for the Po Valley. Today Lega Nord has become more moderate. Now it only aims for the north to keep much of the money shot and manage them on its own instead of passing through Rome.

South Tyrol

Economic, historical, and cultural factors unite in South Tirol. South Tirol until the end of World War I belonged to the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, then he was assigned to Italy. After the phase of Italianisation in the time of the South Musolini Tirol after World War II, he gained more political and linguistic autonomy. In much of the state income, this region is even allowed to carry itself. Southern Tyrollians seemed happy for a while. But the healing stock market crisis temporarily re-enters separatism parties. Italy is behind Greece with more Eurozone debt, and the economy is not recovering. Many tropo-Southies, who are well-off economically, don't want to have anything to do with Italy's problems, and therefore require the “extension from Rome”.

Corsica

The French State has long tried to move him from public life and to school the chrosician language on the island. The autonomy efforts have been fought. Military groups, mainly the FLNC, have been trying to break out of France for many years, carrying out attacks against representatives of France's state and even holiday houses on the continent. In 2014 FLNC dekaled that it would give up the war in illegality. But the potential of the conflict remains: reserved proposals for autonomy by the French Socialist government under Lionel Joseph in 2000 drew the conservative opposition to the barricades. She believed that other regions, such as Bretanja or Alzasa, could seek independence. Traditionally, regional languages are taken into account in Paris because the country's unity is seen to be threatened.

Bavaria

Few bavarese think of the creation of a separate country. But however, Bavaria officially enjoys the term “free state” from today. And with this barvaria could survive well. This is Germany's largest-show country in federal banks, with 13 million inhabitants, with more than Sweden or Portugal, and also with the highest economic productivity in federal areas. If there's a desire for more of the bavarres, then it's largely due to financial compensation among the countries, this system through which partly harmonise the differences in well-being between rich and poor countries. Bavaria would prefer to pay less in the common ark. But even here there are real separatists. The Christian politician Wilfried Scharnagel in the 2012 published book calls for, that “Bavaria can only emerge”, thus demanding secession from the German state unit. But so far no greater movement has been created.
