On the last day of his official meetings in margins of the work of the United Nations General Assembly, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli met with his counterpart from Armenia, Edward Nalbandyan.
As the Foreign Ministry reports, Pacolli has expressed thanks for this state's pragmatic approach in relation to Kosovo and in particular to the support this country has given to our country in Francophony.
In addition, Pacolli has positively assessed the current level of dialogue and political communication between the two countries, despite non-recognition “de jure” of Kosovo's independence.
“We strongly believe that the recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state by Armenia would strengthen stability and peace in the region, and promote Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective and the entire region”, Pacolli has said.
In turn, he has announced his Armenian co-ordinator that the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in international organisations will remain one of the top foreign policy priorities, urging Armenia's state's support in this process.
At the end of the meeting, Pacolli requested recognition of the Kosovo Republic's passports, arguing that up until now 185 states accept our country's passport, and that this would facilitate the free movement of citizens on both sides would promote economic, academic and tusis exchange.
