The Nazis committed a host of atrocities during World War II, but the most tragic among them was the attempt to wipe out the Jewish people, along with many other minorities and marginalised groups.

After the defeat, the Nazis tried to cover the evidence of their actions by killing witnesses and burning camps of their destruction on earth. One of these, the death camp in Sobibor, Poland, has recently been excavated, and what was found there is very shocking to describe in words.

Poland, which Germany invaded from the beginning of the war, was home to many of the worst camps, including Auschwitz and Treblinkan.

But the recently discovered camp, Sobibor, was another camp where Jews and other marginalised groups were sent to be tortured, ashamed, bound, physically violated and sexually murdered and then killed

He was part of the operation “Reinhard”, under which more than 2 million people were systematically killed. The bodies of the victims were crippled on these train tracks and never left.
