The possibility of the Netherlands restoring the visa regime with Albania is a question for which Dutch authorities do not yet have an answer, but what is being studied is this country's police report on Albanian criminality.
Asked by Klen Television on the issue of visa return for Albanians, the Netherlands Embassy says the document, where concern about the growing criminality of Albanian gangs, is in the hands of Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice authorities.
Dewey van de Weerd: “We are aware of articles in Dutch media concerning a confidential Dutch police report referring to the spread of organised crime in the Netherlands, by persons of Albanian origin. The report is currently being studied by the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, but has not yet been officially presented to the ministry. ”
Two days ago the media reported a Dutch police memo advising the government that the best way to fight Albanian criminality is to restore the visa regime and stop Albanians from moving freely to the Schengen area. At least some political parties in Holande have expressed in the past pro-stronging austerity measures for Albanians, while the report and the possibility of visa returns with Albania sparked reactions in Tirana as well. /tv Klan/
