Victims of sexual violence during the last war expect the new government to deal more seriously with recognition of their status and the separation of pension so that, at least, they will be able to receive medical treatment and to deal with travel expenses.
RTK brings a thrilling tale of a woman who 18 years ago returned from the US to Kosovo for her husband to stand up for his homeland. It shows the horror he has experienced.
This Albanian woman returned from America with families for her husband to become part of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
She today suffers the consequences of that fateful day for her and over 50 other women who were leaving their homes by violence.
Although she found support from her husband, mother - in - law, and extended family, she sometimes tried to end her life. It requires that the new government, which is expected to be formed, take seriously the treatment of this category as well.
Even the Torture Survivor Centre requires that as soon as it is known the status of even this category, which so far alone has found the door open.
According to local officials, survivors of violations committed by paramilitary residents need institutional and social support.
