The self-declared “nation's father”, Silvio Berlusconi, is not only one of the most popular Italian politicians but also one of the richest characters in Europe.
In 2015, Italy's three-year-old prime minister was convicted of bribery, only two years after being convicted of tax fraud.
But sexual scandals and penalties have not damaged his property, however.
Berlusconi, a media magnate that decided to enter Italian political life, is thought to have a fortune of 7.97 billion euros.
It still has shares in the publishing house “Mondadori”, the Medionum financial services firm and the largest Italian commercial broadcaster “Mediaset”, reports “Forbes”.
In August 2016, Berlusconi agreed to sell 80% of A.C. Milan, one of the most successful football teams in Europe, for the Chinese corporation “Sino-European Sports Investment” for $820m.
Berlusconi has begun his career as a singer in tourist ships and nightclubs, writes eye.net. In 1961, he graduated from law and founded “Edward”, a construction and development company in Milan.
In 2011, he was forced to resign as prime minister and was removed from parliament two years later. His wealth includes the stock Berlusconi has transferred to his five sons
