So many thefts have occurred for three months in Kosovo

The theft remained a disturbing phenomenon facing Kosovo citizens.

Robbery in cars, locals, and homes are quite frequent.

Kosovo Police statistics show that 1454 cases of theft have been reported for just three months this year (Prill-Mayor).

However, compared with last year, this, according to police, has marked a decline, where 1503 cases of theft have been in this period of last year.

And the number of heavy thefts this year is 1161, which is less than last year than 1211 cases of these thefts, writes Indexline.

Daut Hoxha, the police spokesman, in a response to Indexline, has indicated that cases of theft in many cases commit minors.

“Under the regions and police stations except for regular patrol officials, we also have investigations that deal with the investigation into cases of theft, respectively. The perpetrators of the job theft are of different age groups, where there are often even cases when they are minor, so police treat them based on applicable laws, cooperating with centers for social work, as well as minors' caretakers” said Hoxha about Indexline.

And the number of cases of theft is greater during the summer season, when some of the citizens go on vacation.

spokesperson Hoxha has said that they have added police presence to sensitive points suspected of more thefts.

Police require greater co-operation with citizens so these cases can be reduced.

Even though police are constantly working on identifying the perpetrators of these criminal acts, greater cooperation is required by citizens regarding the delivery of information that can also lead to the arrest of suspected persons and the continued reduction of theft cases” Hoxha said.
