The headless female's body was found in a bay near Copenhagen, where Danish police searched for Swedish journalist Kim Wall, whose family had reported it.
The headless body, legs and hands were discovered only hours after Danish entrepreneur Peter Madsen (46), suspected of killing 30 years old, had told the police that she had died while he was with them on his submarine.
Madsen (46) claims that Wall had died by accident and that after that he had left her at sea, changing her earlier statement about how she was alive when he landed in Copenhagen. The body had been observed by a chiclis, who had passed through Koge Bay, exactly where Madden had said he had released “the body of the late journalist”.
Wall was last seen on August 10th under the “UC3 Nautilus” which Madsen had built, but he insisted by Monday that the same evening it had landed on the continent.
Madsen was taken by the Danish Navy on August 11, when his submarine was sunk in the harbor. Kim's family had warned the police of her disappearance, while Danish investigators have announced that they have found evidence that the submarine was deliberately sunk, most likely Madsen would hide the traces of the assassination, not because of decay, as he claimed.
Wall was a journalist “freeance” Swedish who lived in two addresses, in New York and in China, and had reported on New York Times, Guardian, Time and Wise. On Madsen's submarine, he had gone to write a story about an entrepreneur and owner of one of the world's largest private submarines, over 18m long, in which he had financed at least 200,000 dollars.
Madsen, after the arrest, had told the police that he had not killed the journalist, but had landed him near a restaurant on an island near the time of the shipwreck. But now he's changed the story, but it's still unclear what happened and why Kim was killed.
