Following the INTERPOL Executive Committee's decision that Kosovo's application for membership in this international police body joins the INTERPOL General Assembly agenda, which will be held from 26 September to 29 September in Beijing, Minister of Internal Affairs Skender Hyseni, has paid a visit to the US with the aim of intensifying the lobby for supporting Kosovo's demand.
After numerous meetings, Minister Hyseni in an interview RTV 21 in New York has expressed optimism about membership efforts in INTERPOL.
On Wednesday, meanwhile, the Kosovo Government has approved the initiative for Kosovo membership in the International Criminal Police Organisation INTERPOL.
At the Government meeting, incumbent Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Behar Selimi said membership in this international organisation provides great opportunities for co-operation.
