Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin believes there are strong reasons for anyone who wants to undermine the agreement between Serbia and Russia regarding the Russo-Serbe Humanitarian Centre agreement.
“By blocking this centre, some forces are trying to show there are other bosses instead of Serbs. However, only Belgrade is entitled to make a decision on this case”, Alexandr Chepurin said in an interview given to the daily “Vecernje Novosti”.
Chepurin said I don't see any reason why the Serb-Russian Humanitarian Centre (RSHC) cannot receive an official status even after five years when a Russian-Serbian agreement was made in 2012.
He further stated that “We consider pressure or external influence here as unacceptable, resolving the issue consists of two powers that have matured in this case, ultimately signing the agreement is not someone's wish, but an obligation, based on the intergovernmental accord”, reported “b92”, broadcasts Periscopi.
Asked whether Moscow was preparing to close this centre in case the agreement was not signed, he said the Serbian state is interested in operating the centre. “opened at your request, I believe Serbia will find a way to solve this task”, he responded.
Furthermore, he declared that the weakening of the centre is in neither the interest of Serbia, nor of the countries of the region./Periscopi/
