Representatives of Western countries, permanent members of the UN Security Council, insisted today again to reduce the presence and budget of the UN Mission in Kosovo, reviewing the work of UNMIK and the situation in Kosovo, meanwhile, this proposal has been strongly opposed by Serbia, Russia and China, Tanjug reports.
Serbian media see the outcome of UNMIK's mission in Kosovo as highly harmful, saying it is the only guarantor of the righteous Serbs living in Kosovo.
At today's UN Security Council session, Kosovo Ambassador Vlora Citaku appealed to representatives of the United States, Britain, France and Japan that the mission UNMIK in Kosovo will be completed as soon as possible because it is unnecessary and rewarding.
