Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has stressed that the withdrawal of all Serbian Embassy personnel in Macedonia came after relevant authorities have presented evidence of an offensive intelligence action against Serbia's institutions.

Our competent bodies confirmed and presented arguments for anti-discovery activities against the institutions of Serbia”, Vuciq declared in front of reporters.

The Serbian president has declined to present further details, but has underlined that “for seven to ten days, things will be more clear”.

Vuci however, has stressed that Serbia will continue to cultivate friendly relations with Macedonia.

Meanwhile, Serbian diplomacy chief Ivica Dacic has stressed to the media that Serbia will take all measures to protect state interests under the recently established circumstances.

The “Already next week, after the meeting we will have, we will also have a meeting with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, and part of the staff will return to Skopje. Meanwhile, the ambassador will return later, when we finish with all consultations, which we intend to do here in Belgrade”, has stressed Minister Ivica Dacic.

Otherwise, all employees from the Serbian Embassy in Skopje, on Sunday evening have been called for urgent consultations in Belgrade.

Before official Belgrade is promoted, Macedonia's Government through a communique for media during Monday has stressed that the Republic of Macedonia develops friendly relations with all neighbouring countries, including here and Serbia.

When there are open sensitive issues between our two neighbours, the Government of Macedonia always pursues the interests of the state based on good neighbourly principles and advancing regional co-operation, neutrality and non-compliance in disputes between the countries”, it is said in the Government's announcement in Skopje.

There were also reports that the withdrawal of Serbian personnel from the Embassy in Skopje concerned even the possibility of Macedonia seeking vote on Kosovo's accession to U. NESTO, a move that is sharply opposed by Serbia.

“tied to Kosovo membership vote in U NESTO, the Government of the Republic of Macedonia will take into account the position of most EU member states”, the government of Macedonia's media report stressed.

International relations officials say attracting the entire Serbian Embassy staff to Skopje presents a serious step in terms of straining relations between the two neighbouring countries.

“This is a very serious issue that shows that Serbia will be exasperating reports with Macedonia in the function of creating some kind of pressure during the eventual elections in international bodies, with Macedonia's case expected to change its position in relation to Kosovo”, notes Blagoja Zashov, former ambassador. According to him, attracting the entire diplomatic staff to consultations shows that reports between Macedonia and Serbia enter a serious phase of diplomatic pressure, Telegrafi writes.

Meanwhile, former Ambassador Alydin Demiri says the colding of reports between Serbia and Macedonia aims to prevent the development of investigations on the part of Macedonian authorities about why a Serbian Embassy employee had been found among the protesters, who forcedly joined the Macedonian Assembly on April 27th, the day of the president's election of this institution.

“in a way clearly pointed out that Serbian services were mixed in violent developments in Macedonia's Assembly during the election of chairman of this institution”.

“As the investigations take place on what exactly happened that day in the Assembly and as the employee at the Serbian Embassy was present among the protesters, recent developments with the withdrawal of all Serbian Embassy staff could be a response to the investigation of Macedonia's authorities, so as not to go to the end, under the pretext of the cooling of relations between Serbia and Macedonia. Another explanation does not have”, Free Europe Radio, Aladin Demiri, says.

Otherwise, diplomatic relations between Macedonia and Serbia, established in the early nineth years of the past century, have sometimes suffered fluctuations, mainly because of Macedonia's position in Kosovo.

Macedonia has known Kosovo's independence since 2008, with the official Belgrade cases -- Macedonia's ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Vasilevski -- declared him an unwanted person (persona non grata).
