This media highlights that the Iranian opposition political leader has met US senators in Tirana.
While August is a slightly passive month in politics, it does not seem so about political developments in Iran. A senior United States delegation has travelled to Tirana, today 12 August, to meet with Iranian opposition leader Maryam Maravi, who heads Iran's National Resistance Council.
The delegation, consisting of senators Roy Blunt, John Cornyn, Thom Tillis has visited members of Iran's People's Organisation (MEK) in the Albanian capital. MEK is the political coalition calling for changing the regime in Iran and considered a major threat to Tehran's Mullah.
The visit of senior American officials to Tirana comes at a moment when the US has sanctioned Iran, because this state is considered to support terrorism.
