Political party leaders in Kosovo must have the will to find compromise to get out of the crisis, in which the country is introduced after the June 11th parliamentary elections, say political affairs analysts.
The Kosovo Assembly, although it has held more than four continuation of the constitutional session, has not yet managed to elect the chief speaker and vice-chairmen.
From this fragile political situation, in which the country is introduced according to analysts are undergoing developmental processes and Kosovo citizens. The latter in a poll conducted by Radio Free Europe expressed concern about the current political situation in the country.
Analyst from the Kosovo Democratic Institute, Albert Krasniqi, tells Radio Free Europe that if there is only desire to compromise among the political parties represented in the Assembly, these compromises are numerous.
“are two actions needed to unblock the current political situation. The first is that coalition PAN stands up with another candidate who is accepted for the parliamentary majority, not with Kadri Veselin (the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo), who is not getting support, that would be the first compromise to unblock the” situation.
The second “compromis is for other parties like the Vetevendosje Movement and the LAA coalition to vote Kadri Veselin for the top parliament. There are no options at the moment. That would be a quick solution”, Krasniqi stresses.
Continues of the constitutional sessions failed after the winning coalition of elections -- consisting of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and NISMA for Kosovo (PAN) -- were not present in the Assembly Hall to propose the candidate for the head of the Parliament.
Citizens say this political situation, which Kosovo has entered, should be overcome, as, as they say, are many processes that require urgent solutions.
Ariani, a student at the University of Pristina, calls the failure to create new institutions stemming from elections meaningless. It requires political party leaders to find solutions and get out of this situation.
“Political parties need to get together, discuss at a table, discuss big topics such as demarcation and then find a common solution for us being given to the people”, he says.
Erion Cajtazi, a citizen from Pristina, calls the political situation in which the country is introduced critical.
The political situation in Kosovo is now considered to be in a critical situation, there are many unfinished things that will present problems in the future. This political impasse is at the expense of both politics and even citizens”, he points out.
The same is true of Ismet Kadriu:
The party leaders have to do something and get through this situation, they're doing great damage to the country, they're a lot of unworked things that require solutions to”.
Meanwhile, political analyst Albert Krasniqi says MPs, as representatives of Kosovo citizens, should express the will of citizens.
“This is the will of Kosovo citizens who have expressed it in the elections and this will, they must execute it in Parliament as representatives of citizens. However, so far this will has been lacking, as personal interests, personal ambitions and political party leaders prevail, and these are triumphing over general state interests”, Krasniqi estimates.
Otherwise, the continuation of the constitutional session is scheduled to be held on August 24th.
So far, none of the political parties have refused to set this date for the follow-up session, but have continued accusing each other of blocking the country's institutions.
The election of the Speaker of the Parliament is necessary for the continuation of other Assembly Constitution procedures and for the beginning of the phase for forming the new government.
At least 61 MPs are needed for the formation of the government. / REL/
