The unidentified rocket flew over the northern island of Hokkaido, Erimomisaki, as it landed some 1,180 miles [1,180 km] off the Japanese coast, the Periscopi broadcasts.
According to Japanese authorities, the rocket flew about 15 minutes, while no ship or aircraft damage was reported.
