The Constitutional Court in Prizren has approved the Special Prosecutor's request to appoint a month-long detention measure by Bogdan Mitrovici, war crimes suspects in the village of Sopi in Suhareka.
The defendant allegedly committed war crimes against the civilian population in co-ordination because by the date 02.04.1999, 32 unarmed civilians had been killed in the village of Sopi, on the part of the Serbian armed forces and among them was the top defendant mentioned”, reportedly at the Foundation Court's announcement in Prizren.
“Since the defendant is of Kosovo and Serbia's citizenship, the same has no secure residence or location in Kosovo, the same fact that until the day of arrest he has been unable to leave Kosovo, escape and be elusive to justice bodies. So the Court has appointed the detention measure”, said the announcement.
