Miklovci tomorrow awaits explanation from PAN

Kosovo Assembly Constitutional Session Chairman Adem Mikulovci, who comes from the Vetevendosje Movement, has said he expects political party representatives to give proposals to resolve the issue of Kosovo Assembly Speaker.

Miclovci has scheduled a consultative meeting among political parties for Wednesday. The election of the Speaker of the Parliament is a step towards unblocking the situation created in the Kosovo Assembly, during a chaotic session held on August 3rd.

Kosovo Democratic Institute analyst Albert Krasniqi told Radio Free Europe that Wednesday's meeting is insignificant and there can be nothing concrete from it, except ordinary political statements.

This is a formal meeting from which we cannot hope for a solution. Even from the past we know that when political parties have remained in these processes, international interference has been needed. Even now it seems that without such interference, we will not be able to overcome personal resentment. So, we're dealing with a political class, which is quite primitive in the way you see and make politics; personal interests are prevailing against those state”, Krasniqi said.

However, Miclovci disagrees with the thought that Wednesday's meeting is formal or superficial.

“is by no means superficial, by no means. So it's important and there may be new situation and new proposals, and I'll be in the vault the next day if there's a proposal”, Miklovci said, adding that Thursday's session could happen to be delayed if PAN is not in session.

Coalition of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and Initiative for Kosovo, known as coalition PAN, the chairman's decision to call the session on August 10th, has been called arbitrator.

PAN representatives have said their position on the constitutional session will be given after they have held Wednesday's consultative meeting.

Analyst Krasniqi says political parties are interpreting the Kosovo Assembly regulation depending on the position in which they are found.

“Political parties must be taught to respect rules that are the basic principle of democracy”, Krasniqi said.

Kosovo Assembly Chairman Kadri Veselini, who is also president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, is considered unacceptable to be elected once again chairman of the Parliament by the Vetevendosje Movement and the LDK.

The election of the Speaker of the Parliament is necessary for the continuation of other Assembly Constitution procedures and for the beginning of the phase for forming the new government.

Analysts warn that Kosovo is already on the verge of a new political crisis, since the outcome of the June 11th parliamentary elections has not enabled anyone sufficient political subject to form new institutions. /rel/.
