Meterentity in the Podujevo municipality without a caregiver

Pregnant women in the Podujevo municipality for a simpler complication during the evening must head towards KKUK, in Pristina, because in their municipality they cannot get the needed assistance.

This is about the maternity ward of this municipality after 8:00 p.m. there's no caregiver, there's a medical sister who leads almost all cases to QKUK.

QKMF director in Podujevo Zaim Thaci says that during the day two doctors are engaged, while there is no one at night and that all cases are sent to KKUK, Pristina.

We don't have a department, we only have maternity, the maternity is 24:00 hours, but doctors work only 1,200 hours. There are two doctors working on two shifts, but after 8:00 p.m. there are no caregivers in this maternity ward. There's a nurse who's almost all the way to KKUK because we can't get help. We don't have the capacity to have guardian gynecologist. The new hospital has already been built in our municipality, but it's not in operation yet. We as QKMF in Podujevo have nothing to do with this. All emergency cases in our municipality during this time are sent to KKUK, Pristina, because we cannot help these cases because of the lack of gynecologists”, Thaci said.

Linked to this problem in the Podujevo municipality say they are waiting for the Ministry of Health to operate the new hospital for a year now.
