German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned Great Britain that she must pay debts owed to Brussels before eventually leaving the EU, Politico reports.
The “concerns the obligations Britain has received and of course everything must be resolved by account. It's not about the price of a divorce, which looks like a fine. We are still at the start of negotiations”- the German Chancellor said.
Earlier British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said that no “recognises <x1 billion euros supposedly Brussels and added that Britain “will not pay a penny more or less than what he considers a legitimate task”.
