Head of the Vetvendosje Movement parliamentary group! Glauk Konjufca has dismissed the idea of a sweeping government.
“The comprehensive government would be a bad idea for Kosovo, it would be some kind of amnesty for abuses and for the present, largely dominated by the PDK. For us, the best solution is for the PDK to go into opposition. So a solution, of future governance where the PDK would go into opposition, not a government where the PDK would be part, so the PDK would be part of a future government”, Conjufca said in an interview for “theRadio Free Europe”.
Similarly, Konjufca has said that with a government created by the coalition between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo, Kosovo's citizenship, democracy and parliamentarians would be harmed.
He in this interview has stressed that Vetevendosje has faced a reluctance on the part of LDK for deepening co-operation. “We have given the vision of what the future Government of Kosovo should look like. It would be best to have a combination between the LAA coalition and the Vetevendosje Movement. There's no other choice. That's the clue. We have three main political forces in Kosovo, these three PAN, LAA and Vetevendosje.
If Vetevendosje with LDK are both against joining the PAN coalition, then there remains a perspective for the future government to be formed between our two political forces. But I'm surprised by this LDK hesitation of recent weeks, especially for the past two weeks.
So there's been a total analysis of the LDK, the failure to respond when we ask for meetings, in which we could talk about programmes, what Kosovo needs, what future government. At the last meeting we had, they insisted that there be no expansion of conversation beyond the conversation for the founding session”, Conjufca said.
